2023 State Leader's Retreat

As AASPA looks to the future of providing leadership in promoting effective human resource practices within education through activities and a broad-based resource network, we recognize the vital importance of our State Affiliates. We are happy to invite you to the 5th Annual AASPA State Leader's Retreat. This event is designed to assist you in the growth and development of your state organization. Individuals who have been invited to participate in this retreat include state executive directors, presidents, presidents-elect and/or designated association leadership.

We recognize that running volunteer educational associations has its challenges and as your national association, we would like to help. All sessions have been designed for the development and growth of your association membership and professional development. We expect through attending this retreat you can come away with new resources and ideas to improve your association structure, growth and overall bottom line. There will be time for networking and learning best practices from other state associations as well.

New this year, we will be combining state affiliate sessions with a Day on the Hill for state advocacy. Participants will be scheduled to meet with their state lawmakers to discuss both state and national issues. AASPA will provide talking points for national issues, but encourage states that participate to also have a list of talking points. The goal of this year’s event will be to help our state affiliates advocate at the national level.

This event is FREE to attend. You will need to make your own hotel and travel arrangements.
